It is just amazing how time rolls by and milestones come and go. So we were wondering how to celebrate this year... Jumping out of a plane? Climbing to the top of Mt. Hood? We do like to live on the edge! The solution was ... for Jennifer to book us into The Allison Inn and Spa and spend the day lovingly gazing into each others eyes while drinking green tea and nibbling on banana chips.

Actually that was pretty much what we did. Though we did get to read and journal in comfy 'chaise longues'. And we did have delightful massages at the end of the day, as well as a hot sauna and showers to relax in.
After our day spa, we headed into Newberg, Oregon for our special dinner at the 'Recipe: A Neighborhood Kitchen' which was a delightful restaurant find. Not sure about the wine list. They seem to specialize in exotic and rare wine $200-$500 a bottle! But the Escargots were to die for, artistically arranged in little choux pastry shells.

The day also give me time to reflect on the wonderful adventure that has been our relationship, marriage, and family. From first meeting at Washington State University Graduate School to now having a daughter in High School preparing for her own college education. It helped that the music at the restaurant was "Gypsy Kings" which we used to listen to all the time in grad school. Felt like an eerie sense of 'deja vu' as the Spanish guitar and wailing vocals played in the background.
What an adventure in love, life and laughter! Here's to twenty one more Hot Couple years...
Richard.
